Project Overview

Deliver a turnkey energy performance project, self-financed by Enero, featuring the deployment of Advanced Process Control (APC) for combustion across incineration furnaces and steam network coordination for cogeneration.

With the following objectives:

  • Stabilize waste combustion (Oxygen levels, steam flow rate),
  • Increase combustion efficiency to maximize steam production,
  • Increase energy recovery to the district heating network,
  • Reduce steam losses at the vents,
  • Reduce production losses,
  • Reduce manual operator interventions.

APC Solutions

Combustion, Steam Network, Drum Level, and Superheated Steam Temperature Solutions

The APC solutions delivered continuous, stable, and optimized steam production while fully leveraging plant capacity: increasing waste combustion efficiency, reducing manual operator interventions, maximizing incineration furnace availability, and boosting overall energy recovery.

The verified gains on site, following the commissioning of the APC solutions, enabled project investment payback in under 36 months.

Approach

  • Instrumentation and control performance audit,
  • Dynamic simulation of furnaces and turbine,
  • Programming of APC logics,
  • Validation and operator training on simulator,
  • Monitoring of operational and economic performance,
  • Remote support
